We are building the most comprehensive resource for Electronic Design Automation tools.
Our mission is to simplify the discovery of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software. The semiconductor and electronics industry relies on a vast ecosystem of tools, yet finding the right software for a specific task—whether it is logic synthesis, physical design, or PCB layout—can often be a fragmented and frustrating experience. We aim to centralize these resources into one accessible, organized, and searchable directory for the global hardware design community.
As the electronics industry grows, so does the number of tools available to engineers. However, these tools are often scattered across university repositories, obscure GitHub pages, and various vendor websites.
We created edatoolsdirectory.com to solve the problem of information overload. Instead of spending hours searching for "open source Verilog simulators" or "layout tools for VLSI," you can find verified, categorized lists right here. We want to save you time so you can focus on what matters: designing and building.
This directory is designed for the entire spectrum of the electronics community:
Every tool listed on this website is manually selected and categorized. We prioritize quality and relevance. We organize tools into logical categories such as Simulation, Synthesis, Place & Route, and PCB Design to make navigation intuitive. We strive to list both industry-standard proprietary software and the growing ecosystem of open-source silicon tools.
This project is built and maintained by an Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) student passionate about the semiconductor industry and software development. Understanding the struggles of finding good design resources during academic projects was the primary inspiration for building this platform. It is a personal initiative to give back to the engineering community.
It is important to note that EDA Tools Directory does not own, develop, or host any of the software listed. We act solely as a navigational aid.
We are constantly looking to improve the directory. Since we do not track user data or use automated forms, we rely on direct feedback from the community.
